The OpenEyes Foundation coordinates the development of features that have been requested by users. The costs of development are coordinated by the Foundation to ensure that, wherever possible, they are shared and reduced for any participating group.
The development of new features is collaborative. For example the derivation of new Eyedraw tools proceeds through an iterative process in which a clinical group agrees on how to capture the extent and severity of clinical conditions. The following example shows the early stage development of a tool to measure episcleral inflammation.
Formal participation in the design of OpenEyes is a benefit of membership of the OpenEyes Foundation which is open to all users of OpenEyes. Key design changes are agreed at developer / user meeting which are held twice a year in the UK. Please contact us for more details of the next meeting.
The development website http://www.oefportal.com is restricted to members of the Foundation and can be accessed.
